Every seating product has an impact on the environment throughout its lifecycle, from extraction of the raw materials, production, to final disposal and recycling.
As a company Pledge are committed to reducing the environmental impact of all products produced and distributed from their Bedfordshire manufacturing facility, with the ultimate goal of contributing towards the creation of a sustainable society for future generations.
WE ARE ACCREDITED
Pledge have the environmental accreditation of ISO 14001:2004, are members of FISP (Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme) and are externally audited to both standards.
Pledge are also FSC® certified (C019542), backed by a full environmental and recycling policy. This, coupled with our self sufficient manufacturing status, allows Pledge to tailor
make products that both satisfy the customer with design and function, as well as meeting the environmental aspirations of key customers.

RECYCLING
Pledge Office Chairs work with 3B Recycling to improve recycling practices; developing a zero to landfill solution for all recyclable cardboard and plastic films generated on site.
This strengthened approach to waste handling has resulted in over 35.4 Tonnes of cardboard being diverted from landfill within the report period.
Pledge will continue to work with 3B Recycling in line with the UK Government’s Resources and Waste Strategy for England, putting a strong focus on Corporate Social Responsibilities towards minimising waste, promoting resource efficiency, and moving towards a circular economy.
